The Keyboardio Preonic is our first ortholinear keyboard. Like the Model 100 and the Atreus, the keys are arranged in columns. Unlike those keyboards, the Preonic's keys are also arranged in rows, making it a lot easier to get started with, with less reaching and twisting than a traditional typewriter-style keyboard.
The Keyboardio Preonic ready to help you be efficient and productive no matter where you're working (or playing). 
 
  • It's only a tiny bit bigger than the Atreus, so it's easy to carry everywhere, but packs in another 16 keys, including a full number row.
  • High-quality Kailh BOX keyswitches and PBT DSA keycaps make typing an absolute joy.
  • Bluetooth and a rechargeable battery mean that you don't need to plug in the included USB C cable when it's time to get to work.
  • Four RGB LEDs underneath the butterfly logo and a piezo speaker give your Keyboardio Preonic a couple of different ways to communicate with you, but also make your keyboard just a bit more fun. 
  • The Preonic ships with Kaleidoscope and supports our point-and-click layout customization software, but can also run ZMK firmware.

We designed this elegant wooden palm rest and desk tray as the perfect home for your Keyboardio Preonic on your desk. It comes in your choice of walnut or bamboo.
 
The tray is 10 inches square, with a felt-lined cutout for your Preonic. It features contoured edges, a wide, deep area for your hands, and a gentle 5 degree tilt so it feels great under your hands while you're typing.
 
Every great portable keyboard needs a good travel case. The Preonic is no exception. We designed this one to perfectly cradle your Preonic with a sturdy elastic loop and an ultra-soft lining inside a a tough 600D polyester exterior.

It's small enough to slip into your backpack and sturdy enough to carry on its own. It has a handle made from nylon webbing and two D-rings you can use to attach your own shoulder strap.
The Preonic ships with rearrangeable DSA keycaps with English legends. We've worked with early Kickstarter backers to design a 64 key "Expansion Set" for the Preonic that includes all the extra keycaps you'd need to label your Preonic for French Canadian, French AZERTY, French Bépo, German, Spanish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Colemak, or Dvorak. It also includes more modifier keys, mac-style symbolic modifiers, extra punctuation, a full suite of quotes and brackets, and some fun extras to jazz up any layout. The Expansion Set add-on is just $25 for Kickstarter backers. There's also a Blank Keycap Set that's $20 until the end of the Kickstarter.
