Hi!
As we write, it's 37 hours after the campaign went live and we just hit 200% of our initial Kickstarter goal. You are amazing and wonderful. <3
We're both...pretty tired. This morning was mostly email and answering questions. This afternoon, we bought supplies for the first few days of the roadtrip. This evening, we held the first of 23 or so Keyboardio meetups at Artisan's Asylum, an amazing hackerspace in Somerville, MA--only a few blocks from our old house.
Because this used to be home, we got to see a whole bunch of old friends and met lots of new, wonderful people. Talking with folks as they tested out the Model 01 was great. One thing we hadn't expected was the number of folks who pulled out laptops to test out the Model 01 on their day-to-day computer. We even had at least one Kinesis Advantage show up for a live compare and contrast. We failed to keep a count, but about 50 of you came out tonight. Thanks!
As we set up for future meetups, we'll try to get a couple typing stations set up so folks don't need to bring their own laptops.
Artisan's Asylum describe themselves as "a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization furnishing education, tools, workspace, and community to empower dedicated fabricators, including hobbyists, artists, and early stage entrepreneurs, to create on large or small scale. We serve the Somerville and global creative makerspace community, the arts, and the innovation economy with the goal of making the world a place where sincere, creative individuals are able give form to their ideas."
If you're near Somerville, MA, you should check them out.

We've found a venue for the New York meetup tomorrow. Thanks so much, Morgan! Tomorrow morning, we'll send out an update to everyone who's RSVPed, so RSVP!

Key legends (labels)
We've been getting lots of questions about alternate keycap legends (labels) for layouts like Dvorak or Norwegian. We'd very much like to be able to offer you the ability to get exactly the key labels you want for your custom layout, it's likely to be fairly expensive and isn't something we've priced out. We don't want to overcharge you for them, but at the same time, we don't want to offer to do something at a price we can't afford. If we can figure out pricing in the next couple weeks, we'd love to be able to offer you custom keycap legends. As soon as we know, you'll know.
