Connecting your Preonic to MacOS
Your Keyboardio Preonic works like any other USB keyboard. You don't need any special drivers to use your keyboard with a device running macOS, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, iPadOS, or Android.
We ship a 1.5 meter USB C to USB C cable in the box with the Keyboardio Atreus. If your device doesn't have a USB C port, you will need a cable or adapter to connect your new keyboard.
As soon as you plug in your Keyboardio Preonic, your computer should recognize it as a keyboard.
macOS keyboard identification
The first time you connect a Keyboardio Preonic to a computer running macOS, a window will pop up asking you to identify your keyboard. There's no way for us to disable this dialog or to tell it that your keyboard isn't a "traditional" staggered QWERTY keyboard.
First, you will be asked to press the key to the right of the left Shift key.

Press the letter "z"
Next, you will be asked to press the key to the left of the right Shift key.
Press the "/" key.
Your computer will then ask you to confirm what type of keyboard you have connected. You should make sure that your computer has identified your keyboard as an "ANSI" keyboard. If it hasn't, click on the "ANSI" radio button.
Click "Done".
